This committee advises the Town Manager and the Board of Selectmen on energy programs, projects and policies which, through conservation and alternative energy use, work to achieve a reduction in Wells’ reliance on fossil fuel. Meetings are held monthly and are project driven.
The Friends' main mission is to provide funding for the library’s programs. Being a Friend is an opportunity to meet and get to know others who love the library as much as you do, and your donation is tax deductible. Our meetings are held 10:15 a.m. on the 2nd Wednesday of each month.
The Harbor Advisory Committee shall consist of nine members, seven appointed by the Board of Selectmen. Two of the members shall be Selectmen, and the other 7 members shall be from the public at large, composed of four persons having an interest and knowledge of recreational boating and one commercial fishman.
The Wells Public Library Board of Trustees is comprised of nine officials elected by the residents of Wells. The Board serves as the governing body of the library for the public to whom the library belongs. As such the Board is delegated both legal and practical responsibilities which deal with the operation of the library. These delegated duties are a public trust. It is the obligation of each Trustee, therefore, to know the library, its basic mission, its strengths, and needs, and to plan for the library’s future. The Board’s single purpose, as advocates of the library, is to meet the needs of the community. Their meetings are held on the second Wednesday of the month at 6:00 pm in the meeting room of the library. The public is welcome to attend.
The Board of Selectmen authorized the re-establishment and appointment of a nine (9) member Lodging Facility Advisory Committee to develop specific recommendations to the Board of Selectmen during the period of the COVID-19 Emergency Proclamation by the Governor of the State of Maine.
The Personnel Advisory Board acts in an advisory capacity to the Human Resources Director and / or Town Manager in the establishment and administration of personnel policies.
The Staff Review Committee consists of representatives for the Road Commissioner, the Fire Chief, the Police Chief, the Code Enforcement Officer, and the Planning Director.
